READY STEADY G0 -
I'm just giving you a quick heads up about The Steady Boys. The lads are busy working on their new album at the moment and the first few demos will be appearing on their MySpace in the next week. Their debut album 'Roots' (Do The Dog Records) was reviewed in July's edition of Scootering magazine and if you missed that you can read it on the bands new website www.thesteadyboys.com soon. The lads are fully booked for this year but are starting to take bookings for 2010. They would, however, like to get out to more scooter club events and rallies. The lads played at Run To The Hills scooter rally in Northumberland last year and were asked back this year to play both Friday & Saturday night. They followed this up by appearing as support to Secret Affair at their gig in Newcastle Upon Tyne, and most recently they supported Dexy's Bootleg Runners at VFM's National rally in Bridlington. They're already lined up to play at a local North East scooter club event, one in Blackpool and a rally in Peterborough next year, but are keen to do more on the scooter scene as they're so well received on it, probably because their music draws heavily from the sounds of the scooter scene. They have their own material, but also play a great range of covers including: The Clash - White Man In Hammersmith Palais & Should I Stay Or Should I Go, Small Faces - What You Gonna Do & All Or Nothing, The Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop, The Undertones - Teenage Kicks, The Kinks - You Really Got Me, Billy Bragg - To Have And To Have Not, The Who - I Can't Explain, Eddie Holland - Leaving Here, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Heatwave, The Specials - Rat Race, Toots & The Maytals - 54-46 Was My Number and The Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love. They have enough material to easily play a couple of 45 minute spots. They have, suitable for smaller venues, their own P.A., which they are more than happy to stick in their van taking some pressure off organisers. The lads are open to offers. Don't worry how much - we'd rather have an offer than nothing at all.
